As I was pondering the words "cross over," this morning, I had a vision of many people standing at the shore of a river waiting to cross over to the other side. Jesus was standing on the other side with His arms outstretched, waiting for His people to take the plunge.
This river was wide and deep, and it would take much effort to get across. The people were one by one stepping into the water to begin the journey across. Some of them made it to the other side, others were swept downstream, and still others turned around and came back to the shore they were familiar with.
I heard in my spirit...
"I am doing a new thing! Do you not perceive it?" -Isaiah 43:19
Just as the Israelites crossed over the Jordan to take possession of their Promised Land, so too are My people crossing over in this season to inherit their promises. It is a familiar season, but this time it looks different. This time, I am not sending My people to cross over on dry ground. This crossing over requires them to swim.
Those who try to cross without My freedom upon them will sink down. Their burdens and baggage that they are insisting upon holding onto are much too heavy for them to be able to swim. My FREEDOM allows you to float! Who the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). Before you step into the waters, make sure you float. It's not up to Me-I've already provided you with all the floatation device you need-it's up to you to choose to take off the heaviness and put on your life jacket.
This crossing over won't be easy because it will require ALL of you. You cannot swim across a river while you are focusing on or holding onto anything else. You have to let it all go to get to the other side.
To cross this river, you must be without fear. Those who turned back to their familiar shores were frightened of the deep water, the unknown. They chose the comfort of the familiar over the unknown journey Jesus was waiting to take them on. Many have been called to these waters, but not so many are willing to sacrifice or do the work required to swim them.
Those who stayed the course and swam to the other shore are My rising remnant. Those who were willing to sacrifice everything, the familiarity, the stability, the known, to truly partner with Me in the coming harvest. The stirrings have begun, but there is MORE. More than you can conceive or imagine.
My Surrendered Beloveds, don't give up! Don't despair in doing good, for your obedience to My voice in this season is what will determine if you cross over to the other side. OBEDIENCE and SURRENDER are the keys that will unlock your inheritance and establish you in your Promised Land."
This season of crossing over isn't comfortable, or fun, but it is producing a remnant that can truly partner with Jesus to advance the Kingdom in the earth.
As I was reading over some notes in my journal from 2020, some things began standing out to me.
Notes on Joshua 3-4:
The Israelites had to cross the Jordan river by the town of Adam. Jordan means death, descending- they had to die to self, their sinful Adam-nature to enter into their Promised Land.
The Lord required them to consecrate themselves. This is a serious season of consecration to the Lord.
They crossed over with the fear and reverence of the Lord.
They created an altar to tell the coming generations of what He had done!
I believe the testimonies that come from these crossing over experiences will be feasted upon for years by the generations to come!
Beloved, obey the voice of the Lord in this hour! Don't grow weary for one day soon, you will realize you are once again standing on dry ground, but this time in the land of your promises! The good land is coming!
Remember to remain postured in His Presence with a restfulness in intimacy as you swim your way to Jesus on the other shore.
The deep waters hold such revelation of Who He is and therefore who you are.
The more is here! The Kingdom is advancing in the earth and it's the passionate ones who will be filled with His power.
"...the realm of heaven's kingdom is bursting forth, and passionate people have taken hold of its power."
-Matthew 11:12
